Why use a KVM switch?

KVM switches can be used by the everyday home user. Some people may find it useful to have two computers at their desk, such as a home and work computer. It’s ideal for a Mac and a PC. In these situations, a KVM switch can accommodate both machines. It allows you to share the same monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Because only one of each is needed, the result is far less clutter on the desk. 

This 2×1 HDMI KVM Switcher supports USB 2.0 hub and USB 2.0 keyboard  and mouse. By using USB 2.0 hub ports on the KVM, you can attach a USB drive, printer, barcode scanner or other USB devices to the KVM. Switching can be controlled through variable methods, such as the front panel source selector buttons, IR signals and hot keys on your keyboard. With L/R audio output being transferred within the HDMI stream you can attach speakers to the KVM too.
