Add WordPress administrators via PHPmyAdmin

Adding a WordPress Administrator to the MySQL database using phpMyAdmin

In certain instances you may need to add an Administrator to your WordPress phpMyAdmin access for WordPressinstallation via the database directly using phpMyAdmin. This could be due to a number of reasons, but the main one is that your site may have been hacked. In this guide we show you how to create an Administrator account so you can login and get things back up and running.

This guide assumes that you already have access to your phpMyAdmin interface on your webhost. Make sure you take a backup of the database before you start in case you mess things up!

If you get stuck or need us to fix things for you, then please drop us a note via our contact page and we’ll have you back up and running in no time.
